Alumni Whiff-It & Talking About Des Moines

Last Saturday, 5/3, the Des Moines – Central Iowa Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi fielded a team in Campbell Park (Clive) for Whiff-It, a charity whiffle ball tournament, raising money for the Miracle League of Des Moines and the Children’s Cancer Connection.

The Delta Sigma Pi team (cleverly named the Whiffer Snappers) did not win any of its morning games and was a 13-seed in the afternoon tournament. After getting knocked out of the first round of the tournament, brothers celebrated how fun the day was by getting some lunch at El Rodeo.

Much is happening around the Metro and Des Moines is receiving some major accolades!

“A Prairie Home Companion” broadcast a live show from the Des Moines Civic Center on May 5. There were plenty of bits about Iowa, an interview with Raygun’s Mike Draper, and Garrison Keillor described a morning on the Drake University campus.
