Very concerning to this weblog was the letter from the Fraternity’s Executive Director on page 38 regarding the protection of Delta Sigma Pi trademarks.
“The Board of Directors, in consideration of protecting our trademarks, recently updated policy so that only vendors officially licensed by the Fraternity (or through its agents) have the right to produce merchandise using the the Delta Sigma Pi name, letters, or insignia.” writes Bill Schilling.
There are new rules relating to products including apparel, glassware, publications, and web pages.
More research will be done to ensure this web page complies with all new rules relating to the fraternity’s trademarked material.

Earlier in the month of March was a great Happy Hour hosted by the Des Moines – Central Iowa Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi. The attendance was above average and there were several new faces. Several of the more recent grads of Iowa State, now living in the Des Moines metro came by to check out the chapter. And they were impressed with how we kicked back after a Thursday of working at the happy hour at the West Des Moines Chicken Coop. $.50 wing specials didn’t hurt much either!
Don’t forget to check out the calendar page for updates on upcoming events and Des Moines continues to be awesome, as noted below.
The Des Moines – Central Iowa Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi has scheduled its annual Ugly Sweater – themed Holiday Party for the night of Saturday, December 12. The Des Moines – Central Iowa Alumni Chapter of Delta Sigma Pi had a very fun March happy hour on 3/18.
6 chapter members (including 1 who was visiting Des Moines on her Spring Break) sunk many tokens into the games at Up-Down, the arcade bar in the East Village. Local brews were popular buys with chapter members (as these came with 3 free game tokens). In between the intense gaming there was plenty of brotherhood, great conversation, and laughs. For the majority of members who receive no Spring Breaks from their work, it was a welcome reprieve from the old grind.
Hopefully everyone is already registered and excited for the Buccaneers Hockey game on Saturday 3/29.
The Alpha Iota chapter (Drake) celebrates it’s 90th anniversary this year. Instead of their usual annual alumni picnic, look for a bigger celebration Saturday, April 26.
